Red Light Therapy is new to our clinic locations at Desert Hand & PT. But…
Breaking down types of massage therapy
Massages aren’t only for relaxation. Medical therapeutic massage can aid in soft tissue recovery, by utilizing myofascial release techniques and more! Ask your physical therapist about their massage recommendations and enjoy a therapeutic session that best fits your needs. Below are different types of massage therapy we offer at Desert hand & Physical Therapy.
Medical Massage: Treatment is specifically directed to resolve conditions that have been diagnosed and prescribed by a physician.
Deep Tissue Massage: Best for giving attention to certain painful, stiff areas in your body. Uses slow, deliberate strokes that focus pressure on layers of muscles, tendons or other tissues deep under your skin.
Sports Massage: Ideal to treat injuries and as well as a preventative treatment dealing with the health of muscle and connective tissue, range of movement, tone, symmetry, balance of muscle and quality of posture.
Myofascial Massage: Aims to relax contracted muscles, improve blood and lymphatic circulation, and stimulate the stretch reflex in muscles.
Swedish Massage: Manipulates muscles and joints, designed to invigorate the body by stimulating the circulation, and promoting relaxation
